- Orbs is now available on the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform
- Combined with the integration with Amazon AWS, Orbs is looking to make development easily accessible
- Orbs is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain with Ethereum interoperability
Developers can now work with Orbs on Microsoft Azure
Blockchain project Orbs is now integrated with the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform. Developers can now quickly get started with Orbs development by finding the Orbs Gamma Development Blockchain Kit on the Azure Marketplace and setting up a remote environment.
Gamma is a solution created by Orbs that allows developers to deploy a personal Orbs blockchain that runs locally. Through Gamma, developers can create and test Orbs smart contracts.
Orbs is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain platform that allows users to deploy smart contracts and decentralized applications. Orbs uses an implementation of Randomized Proof-of-Stake called Helix, which provides byzantine fault tolerance and a high degree of scalability. The platform also offers interoperability with Ethereum. ORBS holders can stake their tokens to vote for Guardians, which are tasked with maintaining the security of the platform.
The integration with Microsoft Azure comes on the heels of Orbs also becoming available on the AWS Marketplace, and the project now gives developers the option to use 2 of the most popular cloud computing providers on the market.
The Orbs team says that their ambition is to help bring traditional finance players and businesses to DeFi (decentralized finance) to benefit from the growth and innovation happening within this emerging sector. One of the ways Orbs is trying to reach this goal is by bringing their blockchain solutions to the world’s largest cloud computing platforms and making Orbs development easily accessible.
Developers who are interested in building with Orbs on the cloud can check out the Orbs documentation for instructions on deploying Gamma on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
Besides the cloud integrations, the Orbs project has also announced other developments recently, including ORBS token listings on the FTX, KuCoin, Gate.io, Indodax and Coinsbit cryptocurrency exchanges.
ORBS currently has a market capitalization of $425 million and saw $97 million worth of trading in the last 24 hours.
